The Need for Adventure

Hiking pic

This has been a most memorable season bursting with happiness and positive changes ☀️ I’ve been firm on scheduling adventures in nature alongside a bustling family and growing business and it’s brought deep peace and powerful transformation, like soul level stuff. (This pic was on Chetaqua Peak in Boulder, Colorado. You can see these adventures on Instagram at #hmtrailreflections)

Also, my business has been profoundly blessed with new life & inspired 🌷energized leadership. I am so so thankful for this and ironically, it occurred after total surrender to God and the ‘process of things’ and letting go of all attachments in pursuit of holistic living at level that left nothing out and reached each and every aspiration.

Ahh, deep breath :)) Peace — is that. true. place of arriving (not achievement, lol.)

Today is the day for life to begin for anyone who wants that. 🌈

Anything can change at any moment. The most important things are to live with an open heart and beginners mind, always seeking that part of the universe that you don’t know yet 🏹 open to the adventures that are yours to have and the prosperity that WANTS you. We came from the cosmos, there is so much to who we are that is waiting to be discovered. Every day is a gift, let go, open up and just go for it. xo

Madd love!

When You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling

“My whole career started because I wanted to put words on a page,” I told a friend recently.

It was a moment where you happen to speaking words that are a revelation to you while you’re saying them.

This whole thing started twelve years ago and I was loaded with fear, limiting beliefs, and insecurities. During small segments of time, I would write about the mess that I was. As my fingers pounded on the keys, I knocked down walls in my mind one line and one page at a time. I soon began to find a more graceful way to exist in my own life. That’s the “why” on my entire career –its natural point of origin.

Freedom.

Writing was the vehicle that drove me there. It took me to the depths of radical honesty to just put words to how I was living. It was like an invisible staircase would appear and I could find the way out.

After months of writing random pages, they lined themselves up into chapters and it was picked up by a publisher. The book turned into a radio show. The radio show turned into speaking requests. Speaking turned into coaching programs. Coaching turned into a wellness product community (doTERRA) And then everything got so fast, it became a blur. A following grew, a customer base grew, and I climbed to the top of the company! I was traveling here and there and money kept rolling in faster and faster and life got bigger. I found I was accidentally creating things that were bigger than my ability at times to manage. Some days I was leading it and other times it was leading me.

It was all born from desire to get out of a tiny existence where I was crawling through life.

It was a big victory for me, that first book, and those first miles of self-recovery. Perhaps my biggest yet because I remember how scared I was. I was a college dropout who spent years just followed my husband’s career and I thought “no one in the world is going to read this crap” and who do I think I am to even try this? I wrote it while I was terrified and sent it to a publisher (still terrified) and people did read it and the rest un-spooled after that.

I thought of all this after what I said out loud: “My whole career began because I wanted to write words on a page”.  Looking back, I can see when I stay true to that core, I am the happiest.  When I write to my readers, on my blog, and as I keep journaling and draft chapters of my next book, I am always renewed and filled with passion. When I get too busy for that, I die out.  When I work with entrepreneurs who feel burned out, I ask the question:

What got you started?

I ask them to go back in time to find ORIGINAL FIRE where they went to work just for that thing and nothing else. They always have a reason and they almost always light up when they think of it. Now, let’s bring it back into the center of what you do every day, I tell them. Adjustments are made, they clean out their overbooked schedule a bit, they make room for a little more self-care time and soon the passion comes back. Writing is the center nucleus of creativity for my entire work and it keeps me connected to core truth of who I am and what I’m doing. No matter how busy you are, when you stay connected to your core, you’ll always be home.

I Have All The Tools I Need To Succeed

p4

If you’re creating big goals, but you never seem to get there, try this…
Instead of changing your whole life in one day, try changing your life DAY by DAY, because small steps, over time, create huge results.

For example, you don’t have to quit your day job to write your book. Instead, create a one hour window each day and do the most productive things with the hour you have.

When you make something too big, you put psychological weight on it and people avoid things that feel heavy to them (even they we want what it contains.)

Yes, you do want an overall vision, but nearly all of your focus is going to be spent on the daily steps.

When I am coaching my team, I ask this question at the end of our sessions: “What’s your Top 3?”

The Top 3 are the MOST PRODUCTIVE next-step actions that are going to get them where they want to go.

There’s a lot more about this very thing on my webinar >> How to Achieve Your Biggest Goals in 60 Days!

We cover a lot of ground in our calls together and I want TOP 3 to be fresh in their brain, so right when they hang up the phone, they have laser focus on the most productive tasks first.

A healthy business (and a healthy life, body, marriage, anything…)
comes from executing the Right Steps, with High Efficiently, Over time.

So, if you want to eat healthier, you might not want to go full-fledged organic over the weekend and throw out all the bread. It’s too much.

Eating healthier begins with one single decision in the morning to choose an apple instead of a doughnut for breakfast.

That one small decision leads to a workout at the gym to keep it going.

You have absorbed the feeling of being “healthy” so you flow to the actions.

Small steps get you close to the FEELING of something.
The feeling of something gets you into the motions.

Some people believe that if they can’t pull out scriptures and read for 30 minutes in the morning, they’ve ruined their connection with God for the day.

But five deep grounding breaths can get you tuned in.
Hey, one half breath can do it if you’re really focused.

Sometimes we get the idea that we need these huge swaths of time for our goals, but what we need are small consistent swatches of attention.

EXPEDIENCE is a heavenly principle.

It means hitting the target.
It is doing the ‘exact amount’ with high accuracy.

If you never get around to doing what you want, maybe you made it too heavy.

Or you have planned to do more than is necessary.

Ask: What are the steps for *me* amount needed to accomplish this,
and just DO THAT.

My Space

p3

I’m obsessed with high vibe, beautiful, calm spaces that feel AMAZING to be in.

So, here’s “the couch” in my office and the place where I sit until I am in my highest self.

I literally won’t plan my day, train my team, make decisions, or resolve conflict until I’m in my “highest self.” It’s a time for reflection or maybe, on occasion, a time out for grown ups, haha!

Each of these numbers represents a purposeful thing that brings high energy, every element is created with a purpose

Who Do I Want to Be?

whodoiwanttobe

We get at least a hundred opportunities in a single day to ask ourselves:

WHO DO I WANT TO BE?

Do I want to be love, abundance, forgiveness, present, Spirit-centered and in Divine flow? (or all kinds of other ways)

Today, we make the choices, and in the days to come — life will show us how we answered.

How to Grow Up with Your Business

growup

When you want to run a successful business YOU have to grow up with it.

You get to face every fear you have. All your insecurities rush forward. Your jealousy and blame patterns come to greet you & everyone who talks to you.

Your results reveal themselves clearly in black numbers on white screens.

Business is the best way to grow into your own fullest POWER and CAPACITY.

It is the great reflector of yourself, 2nd only to parenting.

If you suck at it, you know, because the zeros will tell you, and they can’t be ignored.

When YOU EXPAND, you’ll see it right away, because the growth will reflect that change in the balance sheets.

Every day your business asks you the same question: WHO do you want to be today?

And tomorrow, it will show you how you answered.

You’ve Got This

mar14

I have seen a lot of people get knocked down by life lately. And I watched them get back up again.

Apparently, they are not going to take this lying down. They refuse to be defeated. No matter what life throws at them, they just keep getting up and getting up to fight another day and make their way to paradise.

TO all of you YOU … I salute you.
And cheer for you.
Angels and a world of people are cheering you on today.
Take a deep breath.

You’ve got this.

Be the Leader Within

leader within

Everyone has a LEADER within.

LEAD with VISION and CLARITY where ever you find yourself with stewardship. at home, at church, in business, where ever.

“(Leadership) is the process ordinary people use when they are bringing forth the best from themselves and others. What we’ve discovered is that people make EXTRAORDINARY things happen by liberating the leader within everyone.” Launching a Leadership Revolution, page 13. I love this book. It’s my new favorite. Reading it all the time.

How do we motivate people? How can we help them achieve?

We see weakness, confusion and breakdown when people with stewardship do not live from the leadership capacity inside themselves…But everyone can BE SMART and ON PURPOSE to DO SOMETHING and SUPPORT OTHERS to CREATE the BEST for themselves!

Stay Steady in Transition

steady in transition

One of the reasons I love the sea, is that it reminds me that everything comes and goes.

Life is always changing. A situation comes today, and by tomorrow it’s over. That was the deal–the way this was set up.

We, eternal beings, would be placed on a planet where everything was constantly in motion. A thousand things a day would come at us–some of them difficult and confusing–but all of them temporary, while we searched for happiness, and survival.

What would we do? How would we respond?

The flow is always coming, and another going at the very same time.

While I sit here in front of the ocean, I have the thought of two years ago when I went through some really hard times. I can’t remember much. The details are so faint in my head now. The one part I can remember, is thinking that I was going to die, the pain was so intense sometimes.

I didn’t die…. [ to my surprise at times]

I just kept living. I couldn’t die, it seemed.

I’d fall into bed exhausted, and the next day would tap on my shoulder and wake me up wanting to me to live it. Day after day, new opportunities came to learn and integrate that learning into my being.

I am so saturated in happiness now, I sit in wonder often at how all this came to be.

As the waves roll in one after another, no end in sight, I am looking for the pattern, trying to pin point how I got from there to here.

I remember that in each life situation that came rolling in, I would look for my own center–Even if it tumbled me, I was looking to grip the ground.

In everything, I asked God to walk me through it.

I let go of blame and anger and looked for the fastest entry point to peace.

I always had to take that exit alone, getting rid of the story of “everyone else,” –what they said, what they thought, what they did — blah, it only weighed me down.
Christ–who is the God of my understanding–WAS my tour guide. It was His voice I looked for; His presence, and I could find it every time I silenced the world and asked him to meet me.

A while ago, someone asked me how I got to be attuned to spiritual things. I have no answer except that I know if you reach for your God a thousand times, a REAL BEING comes to meet you. He is completely alive. His voice sounds a certain way. His Spirit has a resonance. His Light is so familiar. He is not an ethereal fictitious character written with black ink on thousand year old pages. He — is — close, so reachable.

There is no lack of access to Him; all of our separation is lack of desire and discipline in reaching FOR Him.

And that was THE WAY. A true, genuine relationship from one soul to another.
It’s the answer I am looking to give to myself when I wonder how I got from pain to peace.

My own affidavit that God is in our cells, waiting for us to take look into our own DNA.

The more we practice PEACE, the more it becomes who we are. And soon, we get so tall, that a lot of waves roll in that we don’t even notice.

I am not sure what tomorrow will bring. Thankfully, I don’t need to know. There will definitely be more waves.

Yesterday there were four different people who expressed a unhappiness with me for different reasons. There were two phone calls of business emergencies, a total emotional fit from my daughter, and a twelve year old deeply unhappy I said no to him. Plus, I have a load of whites I haven’t washed for three days and I am totally out of underwear now. (That’s probably more than people want to know.)

There is going to be more waves…lol…I know that for sure.

They will come and go.
That’s what waves do.

I will always have the same question in front of me.

How do I want to experience this?
Who do I want TO BE while I am here?

I really do feel, that looking for the CENTER, the Highest response, and direction from the God of my understanding, is the ONLY answer there is ever going to be to these thousands of situations.

And the ONLY ONE required.
